During the initial new patient visit, the doctor will examine and diagnose the patient. He will determine the type of treatment needed. An "adjustment" may be performed at this time. There are multiple adjustment techniques such as:

Exam & Adjustment Room
Depending on the level of injury or illness, the patient may be scheduled for future appointments and therapies. Remember that just as a misalignment of the vertebrae (spine) may have occurred over a period of time, therapy to repair and heal the spine may require time. Thus, patients are advised to carry out the doctor's prescribed course of treatment in order to achieve complete wellness and good health. It is a fact that while we all want an instant cure for pain and ailments, not every condition can be cured overnight.
Massage has been a service of Versailles Chiropractic nearly from the inception of the clinic. In September 2009, Yvonne L. Neal joined the clinic as our massage therapist. She received her training from Spencerian College in Lexington, Kentucky. Her credentials include being a licensed massage therapist in Kentucky and also being nationally certified.
Yvonne's accomplishments include working through a referral program with the University of Kentucky to provide care to the terminally ill and with senior citizens who are living with chronic pain from arthritis, fibromyalgia, conditions associated with muscle atrophy, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
Yvonne has four years experience. The types of massage she provides at Versailles Chiropractic are:

Additional Therapies
Activator
"Activator" is both the name of the technique and the instrument
used. It looks like a combination syringe and pogo stick about 20cm in length. It has a hard rubber foot and is about the diameter of an index finger. It has an adjustable spring tensioner, which presets the applied force. When pushed down, it delivers a small and gentle controlled mechanical shock or "punch" to the target area.
Traction-Massage
The patien
t lies face up with a pillow under the knees. A system
of rollers moves up and down the spine, gently stretching and massaging the muscles of the back. This type of therapy usually relaxes the patient's muscles before getting an adjustment.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Light electrical pulses are transmitted to specific a
reas of the body through electrodes placed on the skin. The electrical pulses
are beneficial to: pain relief, inflammation and muscle spasms. "E-stim" therapy can cause muscles to contract in order to reduce muscle atrophy.
Ice and Heat
Ice therapy is often used to reduce swelling and help control pain immediately after an injury. Heat therapy is used to relax the
muscles and increase circulation. It can provide relief to patients with chronic pain. In some situations, a combination of ice and heat may be used.
Therapeutic Exercises
Strengthening exercises are commonly prescribed for back, neck and extremity problems and can decrease pain; prevent muscle deterioration; promote joint health; increase strength, stability and range of motion; and protect against new or recurring injuries.
Therapeutic Stretches
After an injury, therapeutic stretching helps prevent scar tissue from forming. Even after the injury has healed, maintaining a regular stretching program helps keep tissues flexible, increases mobility and protects you from new injuries.
Other therapies may include diet and nutritional counseling and lifestyle modification counseling.
Where Does the Popping Noise
Come From?
When people speak of going to a chiropractor to have their neck or backed popped, they are referring to the spinal manipulation that properly aligns the vertebrae, alleviating pain. The popping sound patients hear when the doctor performs an adjustment is the release of gas bubbles between the joints - the same as when a person cracks their knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, and it is not painful.
